Well, I suppose it's comfort in times like these...
Chris: This is England in summer Elizabeth but there is little comfort..

Oh...are they whinging, Chris?
Chris: Nooo - they are happily doing b*gger all and flying the flag Ray..
(sigh) I find myself still hoping for a miracle...like the Parliament deciding there wasn't a quorum for so huge a decision and therefore the BREXIT won't happen!
Chris: Unlikely Ginnie, will of the people, and all that..

You are so right - charity activities belong to the best things- and the Salvation Army is one of them.
Chris: They do good if often unseen works Philine

And hopefully there will be people left that will contribute....
I think soon Oxford and Cambridge University need to think about some programs to get money. Last Friday I heard that these universities do a lot of important research and they get money from 'Brussels'.... now that is a dead end and students might have to choose other schools, too expensive to finance themselves. (sigh)
Chris: At those institutions I expect money will come from America Astrid
I have a sweatshirt like that bloke....must be an oldies special.

It is our book sale again on Saturday
Chris: That's another thing we do instead of leading the world..

The lull before the storm
Chris: Before the people rise, orchestrated by a GREAT MAN - not Boris, you, you idiot...
Seems the gents are talking about the political situation you find yourselves subjected to - while waving the flag.
Chris: And that's just about all they are able to do Mary..
Soup kitchens and charity shops...?
Chris: That is about the strength of it Frank

Ahhhh... Bulldog Britain! Land of hope and glory. No more interference from Jeaan-Claude Juncker. Let's spend the £350 million on free cream teas for life for soon-te-be retired public servants who have given of lieftime of service to the country.
Chris: Errr..some mistake surely!

Sort of reminds me of a dog chasing a car and then the car stops. The dog stares at the car with quizzical eyes smile

A confession from down south. I have read many opinions, etc. To this day, I still don't understand why people so dearly want to leave. I am doubting that such a reason actually exists.
Chris: They wanted to leave because they desired to bring back the olden days and rid the country of foreigners Louis. Yes - it's that bad..
Whatever the situation the Salvation Army still seems to be there with its support.
Chris: The Sally Army will always be there Brian

Will there be a saltire on future flags I wonder :-(
Chris: At the way things are probably going I expect to see only the cross of St George Anne..
the stroking of chin is an arresting feature, Chris
Chris: A thought process is in operation I expect Ayush
The flags will look odd when the Jocks depart the union.
Chris: It'll have to be the cross of St George then Martin..
Building fences...
Chris: And flying flags too
Just as well, since they're crap at football smile I figured Iceland would win!
Chris: I am not a football fan but I am stunned at this bizarre turn of events Tom

People are just about to discover there is a link between the economy and personal finance. We will be having a greater need for charity as we spiral backwards towards the Dickensian times so fondly remembered and yearned for by our 'representative' majority.
