You have chosen a decent painted sky to go with this, Chris.
Chris: I yanked this one out of my neighbour's garden shed whilst intoxicated and stuck it on top of the wrong picture Ray

Sadly, I never had this overview on Wells, my favourite English city, but I can recognize Wells Cathedral and Cuthbert' Church. The clouds are heavenly and dominating the view. The magnificent cathedral has become small.
Chris: I took this picture from Glastonbury and then twiddled it in the style of W J Phillips to see if I could get it to make any sort of pictorial sense Philine. Luckily the salient points of Wells can be discerned, if you know what to look for..
I wouldn't have recognised it
Chris: From this distance only Philine would..

Serried banks of clouds - unfortunately I have to admit I would have had to guess at Wells - how small the cathedral looks.
Chris: Amazingly small isn't it Mike but given the distance it was taken from I'm not really surprised at this

Blimey we drove past this so fast in Chad's limo' that I'm surprised you had the opportunity to snap this. You are a true professional
Chris: I am faster than a greased thing going downhill

Love those clouds. Can't see any wells in the gloom but I can make out a church thing.
Chris: Wells Cathedral ole bean, nestling at the foot of the mighty Mendips

I think Mr T is confusing you with someone else.
Chris: He could be confusing me with the Earl of Droitwich & the Clentish Hills, who hardly ever moves at all

Awesome clouds!!
Chris: Hello Sarah, hope you had a good & productive trip abroad. I admit I had to twiddle the picture a bit in order to achieve the effect but I think it was worth it
Love how the tones darken so much as they reach the bottom.
Chris: Dramatic eh Mary!
now that is some volume. if they were rain bearing clouds, it would be getting very wet there
Chris: I think fortunately they were not that thing Ayush
That is an incredible bank of clouds that you've captured here, Chris. The light is wonderful!
Chris: Thank you Bev: just capturing the joys of UK weather
Wells appears to be in a lovely setting, what a shame things like masts and so on have to scar the hilltops.
Chris: I think that mast supplies the whole of the west of England with signals of every kind Brian..
It's like snow piled up on the horizon!
Chris: Amazing isn't it Tom!

I would have really loved to meet everyone, but its my husband's birthday that day and I don't think he would be too impressed with me if I disappeared off for the day! Let me know if another is organised, I would really like to come and put some faces to names smile
