A tranquil scene Chris, I wish I was there right now.
Chris: If you were you wouldn't be troubled by crowds Frances!
I just don't believe this!
Chris: Some people will just not GIVE UP Graeme...

Some believe the beach is best when not shared.
Chris: And also some people like to go to the beach when it is TOO DAMN COLD for the rest of the population to even consider it!

Haha! The British stoicism! And lol at Ray! A canopied beach chair as we use at the North- Sea could perhaps be a bit more comfortable protecting against the wind and the coldness! But the fresh wind, the salty air may be fine and blow away all sorrows and troubles if there are some molesting you! I like the sea at every weather!
Chris: I agree with you Philine: whatever the weather the sea has a charm of it's own
This is simply wonderful!!
Chris: I am obliged to you O Wonderous Being

I like it very much
Chris: You might not like the temperature of the water though!
Very well spotted Chris. I think a slight enhancement of colour is needed ... and you could have asked them to reposition their wind break a little to the right.
Stoicism you suggest ... maybe more to express that they are anti-establishment and free thinkers in the free world.

This image reminds me that I have something a bit like this which I will post before the end of the month.
Chris: Well you're a free thinker too Mr Trim!
Just back from New Orleans and able to comment again - Internet connection in the conference hotel was dreadful!

Could be the word, but I can think of others smile
Chris: So could I Tom: was being polite...
I am paying this a second visit because it made me laugh the first time. It still makes me laugh! This has a Pythonesque quality.
Chris: And it was taken at Minehead. Remember the Minehead West By Election sketch with Mr Hilter & his dubious friends trying to get elected to the local council?
It looked very much like this on the beach when we were there in the summer, not the nicest of beaches, mind you if it was sunny there today like it has been here then they wouldn't have needed the windbreak.
Chris: It's a nice place but I'd only go near the beach in good weather Brian
Excellent, very strange and well... I'm not sure how I shall describe it....but very facinating
Chris: I thought stoical fitted it Aksel
Nice shot Chris... it is nice to have a beach to yourself... if it is on a warm sunny day... at least he shows determination....petersmile
Staking a claim.
