Beaucoup de gaité sur cette photo.
Chris: There certainly is gaiety alright Martine..
Oh, how fun, Chris. "What a way to go" at their age. smile
Chris: It keeps them young and active Ginne. I passed them on the canal towpath one evening. Hardly anyone was watching them..
Genial j'adore !!!!!

This is a happy sight, Chris and I think they have so much fun and it keeps them in shape... I hope that their dancing is not causing the heatwave we will have next week... 35 Celsius....
Chris: This was taken in May Astrid, they were celebrating the arrival of spring

Thirty five Celsius is far too hot for me..

Do they all end up falling into the canal?
Chris: They probably end up falling into the nearby pub..

They look as if they need some new blood, Chris
Chris: It seems this sort of activity is attractive only to old blokes Lisl

If women wanted to join (hint) they could not legally refuse..
A fine old English tradition that will be safe now from EU regulation
Chris: I could see Boris doing this sort of thing

One of the great eccentricities of the UK. Morris dancing seems to be inexorably linked to beer drinking. There was a programme on TV about the demise of Morris dancing as few newcomers wanted to join in; some troops we even considering inviting women to join.
Chris: WOMEN!!!

Well I’m all for keep fit classes Tiff.
Chris: Me too Chad, I love to see others rushing about like this
What a great noise they must make.
Chris: Usually squeeze-box music accompanies this sort of thing
I'm not sure if we have any groups doing this in my part of the world.
Chris: I'd be surprised if you didn't Brian

The enthusiasm! What a shame there wasn't a bigger audience.
Chris: They don't seem to care Anne. As far as I could see this wasn't advertised in any way..

Some of these old blokes won't make it for long. They do look colourful in the meantime.
Chris: This keeps 'em off the streets Louis..
Always worth watching - many years ago (46!)I had a research assistant who was a Morris Dancer - he's now retired but still at it!
Chris: All this gentle exercise keeps all concerned young at heart I'm sure Tom
