The pain before the pleasure! But they are all looking happy anyway, so it is part of the fun.
Chris: At that age everything tends to be fun Sheila
This is great! Do you think this is pre or post fun?
Chris: Post Elizabeth. They were wheeling it back to the boathouse
I suppose that would be a challenge, Chris???? At least they're all in on the plan, sticking together. smile
Chris: A team that plays together, stays together.

At least that is how the saying goes..

At least there is less chance of getting wet and probably next to no chance of drowning. Now being university students would imply a certain level of intelligence but clearly not here; they need at least one person to get the nose wheel of the trailer off the ground then it would would become easier to push.
Chris: Do not tell them these complex things, it will only confuse them..

HA, the way it rained yesterday they only have to wait a couple of hours and they can sail away towards the horizon, Chris grin..
Great teamwork though....
Chris: I wish I was that age again Astrid, for all sorts of reasons..
Health and safety at work to reduce the risk of drowning

ang on Alan has more or less said this already
Chris: Yes he has. He gets up earlier that yourself..

Yes, just lift the nose wheel and things will be easier. Maybe not one of their dads had luggage trailer. On the other hand, this is also a form of exercise ...
Chris: Exercise physical but not very mental..
Ha ha ha. That aught to train 'em.
Chris: Oh it will
So nice to see young people engaged in a positive activity, Chris.
Chris: Teamwork Bev, the right way to go about this

I hope the water isn't too far away for them.
Chris: They've just come up from the river Anne, boat shed ahead
A good illustration of the fun being over and there's only the clearing up to do.
Chris: They've finished rowing for now
Ha, I thought exactly the same as Alan...Good catch Chris.
Chris: Completely unplanned Frank

They are a crew, eight persons, ready for a race.
Chris: Young and energetic too Philine
This is the little known ceremony of the Winter Boat Haul, in which certain villages compete against one another to see how far away from water they can get the boat between sunrise an sunset. Experts disagree, but there is some evidence that the ceremony arose in the time of Edward II - some suggest that it was to celebrate the abdication of Edward, with the boats being symbolically removed to prevent him leaving the country. But who knows?
Chris: Your knowledge on this matter exceeds my own Tom..
