That chair is a puzzle in itself. THe Bishop 's coat is wonderful.
Chris: The chair is simply bonkers but I don't think the bishop is
His Crook has sagged...
Chris: Yes - mine has too..
He looks like he's floating
Chris: Just like Chad & me in Bill's masterpiece today then..

I expect bishops across the country will have moaning about having to work mid-week this coming week instead just popping in on Sunday. No doubt they have special cloak for that occasion. Is this Hartlebury Castle?
Chris: No it isn't. This was taken on the occasion of my first ever visit to the Bishop's Palace in Wells

The Anglican bishops look as festively dressed up as the Catholic bishops, but usually, they are married.
Chris: And as a result Anglican bishops are happier, and statistically they live much longer than their Catholic counterparts. I always think religious celibacy is a strange notion, an unnatural concoction. There is so much more I could say, but not on a family site such as Shutterchance..

My Immediate reaction was this
Chris: Memories...memories
is that a current Bishop, Chris? i think the portrait is very nicely done but looks mildly odd with the solid backdrop.
Chris: Yes I agree Ayush, odd with that solid background
I grew up in the Anglican church and never could fathom out the need for all these flashy robes, still can't!
Chris: You were in the wrong church I suspect Brian. Perhaps you could have been something like a Quaker? They don't have any of this ostentation

That Bishop could be a guy who visited a dress shop - or he could be a bishop smile The chair demand that one sit upright. Probably where they learn the princes to sit still, or make an !@#$% of himself. Princesses know how to sit still.
Chris: I'm sure you're right Louis
The Bishop's expression is very pleasant, Chris. He looks to be a congenial fellow.
Chris: I am sure he is a nice humane soul Bev
He looks happy enough.
Chris: No reason why he shouldn't be I guess Tom..
