Magnifique architecture !!
Chris: Yes indeed Claudine, it is!
I read a lot of historical fiction and Abbeys for a large part of the "England experience" back a few hundred years and more. This is a perfect representation for my "in head" experience that a novel gives me.
Chris: There's lots of atmosphere in this place Rob

A beautiful building. Happy memories of a visit there with your good self. The cyclists there can't be proper cyclists; proper cyclists would be in a cafe eating cake.
Chris: They are just pretend cyclists

Do you know what the monument is for Tiff. At first I thought they were soldiers around it but now I’m not sure.

Chris: The Digby Memorial, situated outside the Abbey, is a memorial to George Digby who provided a lot of funding for renovation work during the 19th century. It was built in 1884 and features statues of St Aldhelm, Bishop Roger of Salisbury (Roger de Caen), Abbot Bradford and Sir Walter Raleigh Chad

An impressive looking, large Abbey. If I had more time, I would google about its history.
Chris: It is a lovely place, worth finding out about Philine
