Ce cimetière n'est guère entretenu, dommage.
Chris: They do this sort of thing on purpose these days Martine, cutting the grass once a year
I like your composition.
The cross laying down is curious - it looks like it's meant that way...

An interesting place. I can't recall hearing of Beckford before. Ive leant that the tower was built between 1826 and 1827, and was once home to one of the greatest collections of books, furniture and art in Georgian England and now stands as the only surviving example of William Beckford’s great architectural achievements.
Chris: He is interred here in a grand tomb. His other gothic delight at Fonthill in Wiltshire collapsed because he built it in haste without foundations

Thanks for Alan's information - what an enchanting cemetery I would like to visit one day!
Chris: Quite a number of my own relations lie at rest here Philine
An interesting place Chris...totally unknown to me
Chris: On top of Lansdown hill, fabulous views to the south on a clear day
Slowly , very slowly returning to nature
Chris: I think they cut the grass annually
cemeteries have fascinated me for decades.

How different cultures create theirs, where they do.

How they design them.

How they maintain or do not maintain them.
Chris: I share your interest Alan
Needs a bit of TLC I think.
Chris: Probably in the winter Tom
Nice shot,Chris, this place looks well worth a wander.
Chris: Very much so. It has good views too
There are many cemeteries about these days that are only tidied up a few times a year, this looks like an interesting one.
Chris: It certainly is interesting to me Brian, I knew a fair number of internees
there is quite the variety of crosses and head stones here Chris... good composition....petersmile
Chris: Thank you Peter
Stones at catty-corner angles...
Chris: Yes indeed Larry, some pushed over
This looks a marvelous place to wander.
