Very nice, Chris - I like this portrait. A book store owner?
Chris: Yes indeed Ellie, an independent bookstore - something to savour

What a wonderful image...lots of interesting things here, but my favourite is the much used step ladder.
Chris: All part of the patina of such an establishment..

Have you been buying books again, Chris?
Chris: I cannot help it Lisl. Is there a therapy group I can join?
Guess what it is!!!!
Chris: The book he's wrapped is a present

By looking behind him, I think he is binding books himself..I think I spot materials to do so. What a great portrait and no there is no cure for buying books.....
Chris: Everything about this has great character Astrid, he runs the shop by himself in Bristol

Now this looks to be a proper bookshop. I expect that the owner knows exactly what books he has and could immediately gab the one that you wanted. Good to see your purchase nicely wrapped.
Chris: Absolutely so, standards from the olden days survive here
This chap looks very happy to be photosnapped Tiff, but what did you buy that required plain paper wrapping.
Chris: It was a book for the discriminating older gent to study in the privacy of his own abode Chad
I hope he hangs on in there.
Chris: We need people like him Tom

Keep on buying, as long as you read them. I also like old bookstores.
Chris: I do buy and do read Louis, mainly from charity shops and places like this
Looks like my kind of place. Nice portrait.
Chris: You'd love it Mary
I have a garage full of books you could buy
Chris: Go away
I'm always buying books and magazines, if I live to be 100 I will never read all I've got and that's without buying any more.
Chris: I had to prune mine savagely, largely in order to obtain more
a nice portrait, Chris.
Chris: Thank you kindly Ayush
I like the way he has dressed against the background... independent bookstores are the best...
