It is a beautiful skyline. I really like the contrast of the short buildings in the front with the taller ones behind.
Chris: The church, St Mary Redcliffe, was described by Elizabeth I as "the fairest, goodliest, and most famous parish church in England."

We are in Bristol? This is modern life.
Chris: Indeed Philine, Bristol with the church of St Mary Redcliffe dominant
Bristol is a mix of the good, bad and ugly like so many of our cities
Chris: Indeed it is just that
The dark clouds, Chris? They will wash the city clean.
Chris: Well it looks like a storm brewing out there
Which is what they have done in London in my opinion, when I finished working there in 1977 none of those now famous appendages were probably even thought of.
Chris: London has changed hugely in my memory too, some things for the better

Quite right; they should knock down the church and spire. It would be a prime site for student accommodation and a McKingBurgerKCSubwayC.
Chris: Clearly your dynamic suggestion would increase the productivity of the city, including the accident & emergency section of the local hospital, by a healthy, or indeed unhealthy, margin
That spire has got to go! smile
Chris: Whatt!!
combining my training, experience, love of architecture and my traveling around the world I have seldom if ever found a city scape that has not been ruined by newer buildings....
