I would love to visit this place Tiff. Is it the Fosse?
Chris: If you are interested in walking the original Fosse I could take you on a couple of miles of it - all unknown to me until Lisl & I started our parish walks - Chad.
Spectacle rejouissant , j'aime beaucoup
Chris: This marks the original Roman Fosse Way Claudine

I bet it wasn't wooded in those days, Chris. Too much cover for the Celts
Chris: Beacon Hill on the Mendips Lisl: a good vantage point for defence

Lisl showed me this Roman road leading behind her house if I remember correctly. I like your image!

They certainly build their roads through some very pretty places. They were probably glad of the shade form the searing British sun.
Chris: Today here in Aquae Sulis it looks more like Lapland than the UK outside..
What did them Romans ever do for us?
Chris: Quite a lot I believe..

Très jolie petite route.
Chris: It is thousands of years old Martine
What a sparse and open forest. You could walk anywhere. How lovely!
Chris: There are good distant views too
No doubt this was trodden on by thousands of Roman sandals.
Chris: Very much so Brian
I can imagine the legions pounding along!
Chris: As they almost certainly did here Tom
amazing how long some things last...
Chris: Thousands of years in this case Larry
This is really beautiful, Chris!!
