Battle was a very chancy thing with those slow-loading arms...
Chris: Different times Larry
I can't imagine what this would have been like in real life, and never want to know....Nice shot, Chris.
Chris: Neither do I Frank, these things are staged basically for fun these days
Jolie brochette de soldats.
Chris: Thank you kindly Martine
I wouldn't even want to pretend...
Seeing these makes me wonder how the NRA can think that the framers of the US Constitution would have agreed that 4 year olds should be able to carry AK-47's.... that ANYONE should be able to carry AK-47s. Mass shootings by a single person would've been unimaginable.
Chris: This has nothing whatever to do with US gun law lunacy Elizabeth, I am very glad to say..

Wonderful treatment of 'old times'.. it is almost unbelievable that those guns actually worked. Maybe one shot every 1 or 2 minutes??

Chris: Oh they worked alright Astrid!

A very fine pic, Chris...it does remind me that I would prefer to fight with sausages!
Chris: Now that is an interesting if somewhat challenging concept ole sport..
I totally agree with Elizabeth's comment. Don't even get me started. But in this instance, one would hope to run away fast enough between shots?
Chris: These people are illustrating English history Ginnie, it is as well we do not forget such things

J'aime beaucoup ces reconstitutions

I am musing on the choice of colour. The red coat became famous in years to come, but surely it made us very easy targets for enemy forces.
Chris: Before the invention of khaki I guess Mike
Lots of dangley bits that I guess is part of the ammunition.
Chris: Dangly bits usually are to do with firepower Mary
They don't look very scary Tiff.
Chris: You tell 'em Chad!

Is this part of the vigilantes to repel the Christmas hordes following police costs?
Chris: Bath is a seething mas of C*******s hordes at present..
The look on that second guys face looks as if it is for real rather than play acting.
Chris: He's really into the part
this is a great image Chris... the old muskets and we don't think about the number of the powder and shot containers that they had to carry....petersmile
Chris: I think it was all pretty cumbersome stuff Peter
