Oh, a wonderful image- we could be in old Dutchland as Vermeer once painted.
Chris: Yes indeed we could Philine, I didn't think of that. In fact we are at the time of the English Civil War

Hahahah!! Very good title. They look fine buxom ladies who probably have had six children each at least. I pleased to see the 19th century never mind more recent centuries has yet to reach the west of England.
Chris: These re-enactors have presumably researched the period dress they are displaying, which is I guess the 1640s..
People appear well fed in the old days Tiff.
Chris: Yes but remember we cannot use words like FAT any more Chad, these are incorrect in a political but non party affiliated sense
He, he, good'un, Chris
Chris: Thank you Tom
Great title, Chris! They have lots to do in front of them but it is cold enough to have to warm up your hands from time to time.
Chris: I took this in summer Mary

Chris: Indeed so Brian: this is just down the road from where we live
What historical event are this lot re-enacting? The embroidery wars of 1637?
Chris: Yes indeed, they attempted to needle the enemy..
fine embroidering by the first two ladies... i'm not sure what the one at the back is making...
