Joli composition entre la brume et les trainées laissées par les avions.

...and...on the 9th day gawd created jet planes...and said unto them...get thee into the skies and make alluring vapour trails...
Chris: For the benefit of sad old men with cameras..

This image could make my day! What a wonderful ontbijt - a bit too much for today!
Chris: The picturewas taken from the upstairs room within which I am typing this message

The ontbijt was a light snack that Ratty & I enjoyed afterwards
It really brings out the contrails Tiff, and I see that ontbijt is ready.
Chris: The two go together like mustard and swine Chad

Lots of early morning flights from Bristol aerodrome then?
Chris: There are transatlantic journeys far above my simple & humble abode Comrade
Very atmospheric ...From your house taken in your pyjamas?
Chris: Taken from the upstairs front room at around 0630, the NIGHTS ARE DRAWING IN!!

A splendid scene . I like the mist hanging over the gallery. After three proper breakfasts on our trip to north Wales, , I'm back to fending for myself now and living off scraps at home now.
Chris: Oh dear this is dreadful. I will contact the Droitwich Marriage & Dating Agency to see if I can find you a suitable homely, comely, buxom WIFE to cook large meals for you..

What could be a better start to the day than sublime monochrome slides and a very colourful breakfast.
Chris: This version is preferable to a bright day and a mono breakfast IMHO Mike

Glad to see your breakfast standards haven't slipped, Chris.
Chris: This is slightly smaller than my usual Penny but it's a good one none the less..

I was tempted to say "What a grey day", but thought it was a bit old hat.
Chris: I'd rather you said "What a bright breakfast" Penny

Hardy describes daybreak at the conclusion of the flight of Tess after the killing of Alec d’Urberville. The scale and grandeur of the landscape are used to highlight the plight of the heroin and her fate is hinted at in the reference to the ‘Stone of Sacrifice’.
"The band of silver paleness along the east horizon made even the distant parts of the Great Plain appear dark and near; and the whole enormous landscape bore that impress of reserve, taciturnity and hesitation which is usual just before day. The eastward pillars and their architraves stood up blackly against the light, and the great flame-shaped Sun-stone beyond them; and the Stone of Sacrifice midway. Presently the night wind died out, and the quivering little pools in the cup-like hollows of the stones lay still."
Chris: Oh yes Philine, dramatic, descriptive writing at its best

Heroine not heroin..
Elegantly simple landscape, followed by a delicious breakfast...
Chris: What more could a man want Larry?
arrgh, Chem trails.... conspiracy theorists unite!! The fog is gathering... nice one!!
Chris: There is a very small balloon too Rob
Wow - so many con-trails!!
Chris: We don't normally have so many Elizabeth
