We are all winners when there has been no noteworthy pronouncements from Boris in the past week...
Chris: Have no fear, he is bound to put his foot into it sooner or later..
Jolie vue. Ils sont bien tous synchronisés.

I like the treatment, too - it really gives the feel of the place on a dull day
Chris: Thank you Lisl, obviously you know where this is

Ladies rowing seem to be becoming increasingly popular (although they have always rowed with their husbands, I guess). I wonder if there are any future Olympians there?
Chris: We can only hope there are future harvesters of national glory here

I suppose when there is only one boat in the race it has to win ...and at the same time comes last ..but who cares ...It's the taking part that is important ... intit ?
Chris: Well taking part is vital, otherwise there would be no boat, people, teamwork, winners, losers etc..
I feel sorry for the cox because they came in ninth Tiff.
Chris: It's the taking part that counts Chad
They won by a lot I guess as they left their competitors far behind.
Chris: Or were the only competitors

Bristol Babes in action. I always wondered about that cox'one - without one - that shouts down on a row of female rowers. Do they talk back or not?
Chris: Definitely not Louis
I think in real competition this is very hard work, the rowers always look exhausted at the end of the Boat Race.
Chris: It is energetic stuff Brian
Hard work!
Chris: Yes - too hard Tom
Very good. One of the highlights of the olympics was the rowing
