Hmmmm...I expect Ratty will have a view about this, Chris.
Chris: Well indeed so Ray, this could cause domestic warfare on an industrial scale..

The dog looks a bit like a sheep. Yourself look so sad or melancholic - what does burden your heart?
Chris: I am sitting in Thomas Hardy's chair at Max Gate..

I think the dog looks happier than you, Chris

Where's Ratty? I hope Timmo is not a rat catcher. I like the screen to keep the icy draughts at bay.
Chris: Trimmo only chases doggies of the opposite persuasion

Now I understand your feeling - this is their dog Wessex.
Chris: Well it is a representation Philine. Wessex was a biter, spoilt by Hardy & Florence, wife number two, but feared by all others. I have been reading more about his life, some of which is very sad..

"In 1926, two years before his death, Hardy had the Woolfs to tea. Leonard Woolf, looking back on the occasion famously described by his wife, Virginia, (she wanted to talk books; he kept reverting to the dog) recalled “the house which he had built for himself at Dorchester, and which, with its sombre growth of trees, seemed to have been created by him as if it were one of his poems translated into brick, furniture and vegetation”."
Chris: Indeed so Philine: thank you
Trimmy appears to have been stuffed Tiff, what a fate.
Chris: There are so many things I would, in an ideal world, be able to say in response to your fine comment Chad

Yes he looks like a biter. The great man's chair is a perfect fit, just the job as the Autumn nights start to draw in.
Chris: Absolutely - all I need now is a blazing fire and a can of dog food
I am glad this sadness is not truly at your home. I was going to suggest going to town to see Bath characters to cheer yourself up. Poor pup.
Chris: There is always something to smile at in Bath Mary

I'm not sure which one of you looks more stuffed, Chris, in all senses of the word!
Chris: Clearly the one who has been stuffed is this model of myself Penny, the dog is real, fresh from RADA
that is a rather cozy and private corner, Chris. nice shot.
Chris: Thank you Ayush

Chris: Who are you, why did you say that?
Your looking very sad and thoughtful Chris.
Chris: I was briefly Brian..
This is the aristocratic pose I imagine you in, Chris...
Chris: I could wear a crown too if you like Frank

You are looking rather sad and pensive, I do hope you found a happier chair to sit in.
Chris: This chair is full of memories Anne, not mine but TH's
Sitting freexing, unable to afford the fuel - we feel for you Mt. Tiff - and even more for the dog.
Chris: Yeah I feel for the dog too Tom, hasn't had a decent meal for weeks..
A true seat of learning
Chris: Yes indeed Martin: thank you
Are you sure this isn't Trimbo in a past life.
Chris: Thinking about it..
A cozy scene...
Chris: Even cosier when I've lit the fire
You look so blissfully content
