Chris: I am obliged to you Martine: stone traffic on the move
An impressive photo Tiff. It looks like some track has been cast aside.
Chris: It has thrown off the past to enter a new world of perspectivisation Chad

You chose a good vantage point, Chris. I took some pictures of the electrification of the line from here
Chris: It's all history Lisl, and as such worth recording

I see that some hillside has been destroyed and is being trucked away to make concrete flood defences somewhere.
Chris: That just about sums it up Comrade
A rare sight these days.....just think how many lorries would be needed to cart this lot about

The track bed looks all very new; ha it been relaid as part of the electrification thats due in the next 50 years or so? smile Looks to be a fair load in the wagons.
Chris: Everything on the trackbed hereabouts was replaced last year when the line was lowered in order that the wires might fit snugly under the Brunel bridges.

You capture an decisive moment!
Chris: A decisive moment indeed Philine: thank you
I am amazed to see stainless steel cars rather than steel. Here stainless would be used for food only, I believe.
Chris: There are a lot of these about for carrying stone traffic Mary
This is the fourth train picture I've seen on here today, things can't be bad. A fine shot Chris, interesting to read about the works that have taken place, I imagine it will be a major, and expensive, task to get electrification through on this route.
Chris: Indeed it will Brian, lots of track lowerings through tunnels and under bridges are due to happen before 2020

Chris: Very much so Anne..
Certainly the way to shift such bulky materials
Chris: No question of that Martin
it must be train Wednesday... both you and Richard feature railway yards today Chris...
i like the way you captured it going over the switched track... it's a great point of view....petersmile
Chris: This is just down the road from where I live Peter
Looks somehow more continental than truly British - but, then, is there anything British left?
Chris: Apart from Marmite, very little Tom
a modern industrial beast--contrasts nicely with Alan' steam locomotives...
Chris: This is the modern world Larry
