My goodness... she's either really tiny - or that's a really big book!
Chris: It's a big book on a tall stand Elizabeth

erm....erm.... I was taught the hard way, 'Only looks with your eyes and DON'T TOUCH.....can you hear me 'DON'T TOUCH.....
Did she check the author... man alive I almost got a heart attack, the fears from my youth...and my conscious and too much information here.
Fabulous picture of a daredevil in my eyes...
(I almost could not look at the picture, to me this is not done or am I overreacting. she can do undo-able damage to the book)
Chris: This is a preserved church Astrid, it is ok to turn the pages of this rather old bible
She's as far back as Exodus but needs to go back a few more pages to get to the begginning/Genesis! HA! (I understand where Astrid is coming from, btw.)
Chris: Of course you do Ginnie, my picture touched a little nerve didn't it

I see you have other freinds who like churches, Chris
Chris: I have a number of similarly minded chums Lisl

a wonderful scene - di you help the lady?
"1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."
I love the old spelling!
Chris: This was taken in a redundant but smartly kept church in Bristol Philine

Is she planning a mass departure and looking for advice. The Bible looks as they if it were to fall, it would flatten her.
Chris: But what a way to go!
If she is intending to read this book, and she appears to be somewhere around page 1 Tiff, then I would suggest that she made herself more comfortable.
Chris: That is a very practical suggestion Chad

Tyndale Bible 1530:
"1:1 In the begynnynge God created heaven and erth. Genesis
1:2 The erth was voyde and emptie ad darcknesse was vpon the depe and the spirite of god moved vpon the water ...
Chris: All good stuff isn't it Philine

The Great Bible 1539:
Genesis 1:1 In the begynnynge God created heauen and earthe. Genesis 1:2 The earth was voyde and emptye: and darcknes was vpon the face of the depe: and the sprete of God moued vpon the face of the waters.
Chris: Quite so
Tell Astrid not to worry. The book they are using is not at all priceless as anything in that category would be preserved. As a book respecter I got the same initial reaction but know how it works in this case.
Chris: Thank you Mary
A case for 'Kindles'...That is some book.
Chris: Imagine lugging it around in your bag!

She is bound to outstretch herself, so I support gutteridge's 'get comfortable' notion.
Chris: I am comfortable with that Louis
I guess this often happens although I'm never tempted to do this when I go in churches. In the Deacon's vestry at our church (Baptist) there is a selection of Bibles and one of them is about 10 inches thick, and weighs a tonne.
Chris: The older they are the weightier they can be
Looking for loopholes?
Chris: Or an escape clause..
She's need a box to stand on to read the lesson, Chris smile
Chris: I'm afraid that is the case Tom..
this is not a book i can take to my bed before turning in at night, Chris. a sweetly timed shot.
Chris: Thank you kindly Ayush
What a priceless capture, you simply can't contain some people.
Chris: You're right there Martin!
