I can just imagine you stood there in your school cap and wearing short trousers with your Ian Allan spotters' book in hand. (Hmmm.. a scary thought).

Pleased to see that Philine corrected herself. Not sure Thomas the Tank Engine would make of it although perhaps he is transgendered.
Chris: All of the Rev Awdry's creations much therefore be considered thus - another scary thought..
You can smell the smoke in the air

When I was little (on a train bound for Sidmouth I think) my Mum made a point of taking me into the driver's cab to see him driving the steam train specially so I'd remember it, which I do - very vividly. She must have known they were soon to be replaced by more boring ones. Oh for the good old days of steam smile
Chris: Oh yes Penny - sigh!

Lots of lovely 50's.atmosphere Chris. Is this just down the road from your house, it must be fairly near where you live presumably.
Chris: About half a mile distant Brian
This is magnificent Tiff, it give a real sense of speed and I like the way the smoke blends into the sky.
Chris: The world as it used to be Chad
It times past, there'd be a row of kids on the bridge getting "smoked" smile
Chris: Not any longer Tom, they're too busy with digital gadgets
