"Substantial" is a word that easily comes to mind, Chris.

A fine shot, Squire!
Chris: And if that thing were to be full of BEER it would be a substantial drink Ray..

I wanted to say: very old stables!
Chris: Very old indeed Philine
I would hate to have been a stable boy Tiff. The many verticals and horizontals help to give this photograph a sense of stability.
Chris: They do indeed Chad but had the mobile liquid holding device been full of beer the geometry of the situation might have unravelled like knitting on a bad day
Very good. These must be the very stables I faked a picture of you me and Chad in
Chris: This is Barrington Court down in Zummerzet

Wonderful shot, Chris. You can imagine how it was in days gone by.

We had a water bowser like that when we lived at Kelston and it was still usable.
Chris: I think this one is still serviceable too Pauline
Not much of the wood has been chewed on which is what I usually notice. Brick barns are an unusual sight too.
Chris: Relatively unusual here too Mary

Now is is to do bit pit ponies, I wonder? But then they were stbles below ground. Oh, I don't know! It all looks very substantial and would keep a herd of elephants contained, I should think.
Chris: Really??
This is a great shot of a medieval stable Chris... i'm glad that Pauline mentioned the water browser... i wasn't sure what it was used for....petersmile
Chris: Thank you Peter
I've heard of Barrington Court, but sadly a long way from us to there. These were certainly built to last, very substantial.
Chris: These were the stables
I imagine it is quite a while since there was a horse in there.
Chris: Decades Tom, it's now picturesque semi-ruin
good textures
Chris: Thank you Larry
