it looks like a very distinctive estate Chris... i like the way that you framed it just left of center....petersmile
Chris: Note the granite pillars Peter, the whole county seems to be made of this stuff
I agree... good framing...
Chris: I am pleased you like it Larry

Helluva fountain impeding progress, Chris...perhaps put there during WW2 to prevent the estate being overrun by German Panzers...heh...
Chris: That would indeed have been a CUNNING ruse to stop 'em Ray

A pleasantly simple mansion, Chris
Chris: Not as grand as my own Lisl but you can't have everything..

Where are the visitors? We are in Cornwall? I don't understand the title and Ray's comment?
Chris: This is my series, one of the few I have done on Shutterchance, celebrating the delightful time I had staying with Pauline & Chris last week in Cornwall Philine
Aha! Kernow is Cornish for Cornwall!!! Pauline even has it on her car. But...I had to Google it because (forgive me, Pauline) I actually forgot. But I'll never forget that house!
Chris: If you enjoyed yourself as much as I did last week Ginnie then you had a VERY good time!
This ain't real Tiff.
Chris: Damn - found out Chad, there's no fooling you!
You have scanned a 1950's postcard
Chris: Ahh - praise!
A fine shot Chris..........nice spot for tea on the lawn smile
Chris: You bet Martin - Pencarrow House
It has mansions too by the look of it.
Chris: Wonderful isn't it

Ray may say about WW2 in jest, but there are secret tunnels on the estate for the SOE. To this day only 2 or 3 people know where they are.
A fine capture of my favourite place, Chris.
Chris: Well I'm jiggered Pauline, who would have guessed about the WW2 tunnels!
Excellent shot of it Chris. There are indeed some fine houses in Kernow
Chris: Very much so Janet, I went there last week when I was staying with Pauline

Kernow, sounds like a cat demanding attention. Don't worry, I have been to Cornwall and enjoyed it very much and if ever, possible, I will visit it again. This seems like a nice place to have tea and crumpets.
Chris: It's a super county Louis, providing it isn't wet & foggy - like today, in fact
A fine image of a fine house Chris, I like your composition with he two pillars in the foreground.
Chris: Solid granite pillars, just as you'd expect Brian

Very grand. Are you looking to relocate and this is one potential property that would suit the needs of you and Ratty?
Chris: I would but it isn't big enough for my needs..
So - civilizaion has reached the South-west! Wonders never cease smile
Chris: Yes indeed it has Tom. I don't know how business thrive here these days but can suggest pasties, rainwear & ice cream for starters..
If that's a HOUSE - what would a mansion look like???
