this is very well composed Chris... i love the gnarly tree on the left... and the mist across the fields and up into the hills....petersmile
Chris: Thank you Peter, the Mendip Hills are in the background
Great title! You captured a lot in this shot - I like the castle thingy in the background! (I know it's probably a church, but to us Americans - everything in England looks like a castle...) smile
Chris: Hahaha - it's Wells Cathedral Elizabeth, a must-see, along with Glastonbury if you ever come south with Frank

A feel of " Autumn Day

"Lord, it is time. Let the great summer go,
Lay your long shadows on the sundials,
And over harvest piles let the winds blow. ..."
Chris: Quite so Philine: I took this distant view of Wells and the Mendip Hills back in the winter..

I like the oak that is belligerently battling boldly.
Chris: Congratulations on your crazy comment Comrade
We are seeing stubble now too as most of the fields are bare but we have no green grass. Love that tree on the left
Chris: Thank you Mary

Wells Cathedral? It's a fine view across the stubble with the hills beyond.

I've passed not very far from this earlier this morning on my way to Scotland. Already I'm hopelessly lost; I thought Scotland was in the north, near Greenland, but I seem in part of the country called the south west. Not a good start.
Chris: Yes Wells Cathedral

Buy a new compass!
What a fine view Chris, I'm still determined to get to Wells one of these days.
Chris: You would enjoy it Brian, Philine stayed in a lovely hotel there

A lovely viewpoint to see Wells Cathedral from Chris, on this hazy winter day
Chris: This was taken just the Wells side of Glastonbury Janet
