these old places have such such character and I often wonder of the lives of the people who lay below. Sometimes the stones show just a very short life which is very sad.
Chris: There are all sorts of stories, some known, some lost or obscure..
I had to google this as I hadn't heard of it.....what a place!!
Chris: Oh it's wonderful. This place used to be completely neglected, in fact they were thinking of disinterring the bodies and building houses here. But now it has been mercifully saved

This is a helluva "Dead centre" shot, Chris!
Chris: Err..yes it is
"Under this sod lies another", pity the poor sod under that fallen headstone.
Chris: There are 1000s of them here Martin
It is so sad to see cemeteries neglected. It is unusual to see in this country as committees take over, raise funds and do the work required to raise and repair stones. In this cemetery, the greenery should be removed; though it looks pretty, it damages the stone.

Your photo is very beautiful. The mistiness and the ivy covered stones are a winning combination.
Chris: Thank you Mary: compared to how it used to be this place is smart now!
In need of a bit of TLC!
Chris: This is an after rather than before picture Tom!

I have often thought I would like to moth-trap there, Chris
Chris: But you might trap the spirits of dead souls Lisl - just imagine that!
Even after a tidy up it still looks as though some more work needs to be done, but it does have a certain atmosphere in this light.
