Where are the workmen the sign promotes?

Very nice image, I love the B&W.
Chris: Thank you Brian, the workmen seem to have vanished

You polished this one up Chris.
I think the guy stumbling out of the pub must have polished off a few pints as well.
Chris: I like to keep a nice clean image Comrade
Love the chemists window, complete with the big jars in the top with coloured liquid in them.
Chris: It's the authentic thing Brian
I am wondering if the fellow leaving The Boater has his sea legs.

The rainy sidewalk adds something to the shot. The rainy days keep the scene saturated in more ways than one.
Chris: I always like the effect of reflections on sidewalks Mary

It's raining so it must be the Driotwich branch of A H Hale Ltd. It would seem, though, Mr hale has changed his surname to Doshi. I like the coat of arms.
Chris: I think this is a listed building. It has real charm and you are right about Mr Doshi running it
This reminds of the Chemist in Blists Hill Chris... and the dentist next door... there was likely another entrance through the chemist....petersmile
Chris: It's the same sort of thing Peter except that this one is still very much in use

"A" is short for "Al" which is a prefix, heh!
