Great shot here Chris, that heron is very brave wink
I think this is amazing, in the Netherlands the herons are not posers like this one.
Great shot of Lisl and Philine.
Chris: Lots of things in the UK are posers Astrid - rats, herons, myself..
This is a great shot!!!
Chris: A sneaky one really Elizabeth

Chris: You know me better than that Lisl!

Oh, the heron was not as interested in posing for us as in the big fish he caught in a wink of an eye out of the Kennet and Avon canal nr. Bradford-on-Avon! It was a lovely walk along the narrowboats with lots of photo stops.
Chris: And all done for you Philine!
I saw more herons close up in England than ever here in Dutchland, Chris, so Astrid is right. Lucky you. I love how you snuck in the shot of our two resident ladies. smile
Chris: I make my reputation by sneaking around Ginnie..

Happy snappers!

A much more professional fisherman than my offering today - this one would un-stock your pond in half an hour!
Chris: Oh definitely Mike. This one has learned that fishing twixt canal bank & moored craft cuts out glare - brilliant!
It was good of you to provide a plastic Heron
Chris: Whaddyamean - this is the real feathered deal!

Yes; the Oft-Spotted Lisl and the Lesser-Spotted Philine - oh, and a heron, too.
Chris: Amazing what you see isn't it

I will take this opportunity to apologise in advance for tomorrow's offering..
Lovely birds, all 3
Chris: That's what I thought too: thank you Sarah
Great shot, Chris. Don't Lisl and Philine look content in each others company?
Chris: Indeed they do, thank you Pauline
They usually fly away if you get this close, Chris, the Herons I mean, good shot.
Chris: They're as tame as anything on the Kennet & Avon canal Frank
Herons do not let anyone this close here. It is fairly small so perhaps a juvenile who does not know any better.
Chris: This one if full size Mary, it doesn't see humans as a threat
ahaha...RSPB at its best!!!
Chris: Absolutely JC
Wow, amazing to get this close, Chris. Almost looks as if he is striking a deliberate pose. Great you were able to include the long boats as well.
Chris: These native Grey Herons can be very tame Bev: this one certainly was
Fantastic Chris...
Chris: Glad you like it Ronky
I bet the heron is kicking itself for not brining a camerasmile
Chris: Maybe it was its day off..

It is nice to finally see a picture of Pauline... and i see that you and Lisl treated her to a walk along the Avon to see the canal boats... and of course one of Lisl' s trained Herons....petersmile
Chris: Indeed so Peter
Don't know which is the best shot here, the Heron or the ladies, but of course it's the ladies, one of whom I've met and the other I sadly haven't.
Chris: Hopefully one day you will have the opportunity Brian
Hehehe... indeed a title by you>Chris.
Chris: Thank you Jacquelyn
photo of 2 photos being taken... very nice Chris!
