Coppers are out of step with the Fancy Dress codgers...just as well, I suppose, or there would be murmurings of conspiracy...
Chris: Indeed so Ray, that would be the first stirrings of a police state
This is a curious parade... what's going on here?
Chris: It is the head of a parade coming out of Bath Abbey celebrating the homecoming of troops from Afghanistan Elizabeth
Biggest truncheons I have ever seen
Chris: And that bloke's sword is a big 'un too
I love the guy with the furry looking hat. Wonder what the occasion was?
Chris: Troops returning from Afghanistan acouple of days ago Suzanne: there had been a service in the Abbey

Chris: All in the name of tradition Sarah
First water cannon, now these things, what next Chris ?
Chris: A good question Frank..
There has been a lot of street parades through the East Midlands this year of battalions of troops returning from Afghanistan although they haven't generally involved church services I don't think, but they are all featured on our local TV.station.
Chris: Perhaps this is happening everywhere Brian
Nothing like a fancy dress party
Chris: Quite right Janet: I went as a confused old codger with a camera..

I thought policemen kept batons down their trousers
Chris: I can't think of anything suitable for family consumption to say in response to this..
What's that cossack doing there?
Chris: I think he's lost, got in the wrong parade
Did any of the homecoming troops take part in this parade, Chris?
