How, fun, did you have your reunion-day at school, I hope you kept your cap and yellow tie.
was this hazing day for the poor lads.
It is banned since 2011 in Dutchlandshire, too many injured-for-life and dead students.
Chris: This is the annual reunion of the School Chad & I attended Astrid - St Petrified's, for the sons of nobility
Great capture Chris but what is the guy on the right have coming out his short trouser leg? Looks uncomfortable .
Chris: You know what schoolboys are like Scotia..

Lol...great shot chris ...hope you had your hat on and knees on show smile
Chris: Of course I did Shane lol!
Oh, dear me. And some with their lolliepops. The stripped kneehighs (socks) sure round out the ensemble. They'll never live this one down.

Astrid is right about the frat parties these days...really being tamed down or forbidden altogether. Some guys just don't know when to stop, I guess?!
Chris: Err..some guys never knew when to stop Ginnie

They look like our students on their last school-day before their A-level exams. But I see also a teacher dressed up like them? I hope they will not drrink too much. In our city a big spectacle and some passed out drunk! Where are the girls?
Chris: Chad & I attended a boys' school Philine, we didn't know about girls until later in life..
From the colour of the ties I assume this was a Lib Dem conference
Chris: And you think these are Lib Dem hats do you?

Yes, I know after having read Chad's chapter about his youth- days.
Chris: Chad's youth was the stuff of legend Philine

They all look like Liberal Democrats to me. I never subscribed to the theory that school days were the best days of your life; who ever said that must have a really miserable time when he left school. Pleased to hear that you did not discover girls until later years; at least you had a few years of happiness.
Chris: Yes I had a few, but now look at me: an embittered, washed-up has-been..

I recall to have read about some girls Chad had contact with. You don't remember correctly, Mr. Phillips sen.! Alan sounds often a bit misogyn!
Chris: Alan has never discovered what girls are for Philine

Don't ever tell him as it will come as a great shock..

Worst days of mine. I didn't realise that life could be marginally pleasant until I left!
Chris: Absolutely Mike, I can speak for Chad when I say we both felt this too

Yes, there are some horrible teachers, indeed, as I remember myself. But sometimes there are also teachers who did evoke a life-long interest for the first time ...
Chad and you are likely to have suffered at your second school, but there is one person who could have had a positive influence on you both:
"There was one glimmer of light on the teaching staff at Oldfield in the form of Mr. Keevil, the English master. He was the one and only teacher who liked me. The others seemed to have an immense dislike for me in varying gegrees yet this English, English teacher, saw in me someone that he was comfortable with. He would smile, was full of humanity, never used the cane to my knowledge, loved Shakespeare, Chaucer, poetry, theatre and all things artistic. ..." (A.Ch. Doveton, Growing ..., p.157)
Chris: If there is an afterlife and I meet that wonderful man again Philine I am going to get on my knees in front of him and apologise for not trying hard enough despite his patent humanity & patience
These fellows are completely embarrassed. I think you should get out of this place while you still aren't wearing a beanie and short pants.
Chris: I think you're right Mary!
A happy looking shot Chris! What was the club/society?
Chris: Absolutely no idea Martin: I think they were foreign
Still to come, much better when you can afford long trousers.
Chris: That is so Martin: thank you
If this is what one is expected to do then I hope they never have such an event at my old school, I'm not sure my knees would stand up to such close scrutiny.
Chris: Hopefully they won't Brian
You must be joking.
Chris: This is our old school reunion, Chad & I were in our uniforms too

What a grotesque bunch!
