I wonder if these people invented the parachute.... I know the Optimism Society is responsible for the airplane.
This made me smile, so I am not fit for the Pessimists Society....
Guess what LOL, I tried to Google the site of this society and my Virus scan went crazy...
Chris: Your antivirus is now completely pessimistic Astrid, I hope it works in future..
They look depressingly optimistic
Chris: Come along old chap - cheer up, we all loved your today's picture

Not all of the above statements are true..
Seriously?
Ha- aren't you a wit!! smile
Chris: Like minded souls at work Elizabeth..
Any other week but THIS week, Chris! Today is the start of Happy Smiling Week.....

I knew that you would join them - look at all your selfies - no smiling -I wonder that I didn't see these posters in our country - it might be an English institution? I myself hate the 'Keep smiling' attitude in our modern media world.
Chris: I entirely agree with you regarding the endless perpetual smirking, grinning & smiling on television and in other forms of communication Philine - this sort of thing drives me mad!

In fact it makes me a tad pessimistic regarding the way we the public are perceived by advertisers and media alike

Wonderful - to keep straight faces like this, they have got to be professionals
Chris: Everybody was laughing at them Lisl - except me
Hahaha... that's funny!

Wonderful! I bet your glass is always half empty, too. I like the girl in the pigtails carrying just a lump of wood and the chap behind her who has not only his coat covering his face but also has his feet on backwards.
Chris: I was going to ask you to join us but in the end decided you'd never turn up..

Obviously they are optimistic about being pessimistic
Chris: Agreed O Great Philosopher, for if they were really pessimistic they wouldn't be doing this at all..

This is wonderful Tiff, I want to join. I thought at first that they were there to greet Nigel Farage.
Chris: If they weren't doing this they'd be a UKIP contingent I'm sure Chad
It looks hard work being so miserable
Chris: It's tough - but somebody's got to do it!
"I can see this is NO SMILING MATTER!"
Great picture Chris, they just beg to be laughed at grin
Chris: Needless to say their street audience did just that Martin

Only in Bath!

I see the lady at the back in the plaid skirt is beginning to crack ;o)
Chris: She wouldn't dare!
I remember saying to you one time that you have some strange friends (people of Bath). This takes the cake, Chris. I wonder if people were trying to crack them up.
Chris: Bath is certainly a weird & wonderful place to live Mary
OMG, is that for real, Chris? What a bunch of totally miserable people.
Chris: Don't you miss Bath Pauline?

They have me smiling, because they are really good at non-smiling.
Chris: They daren't smile Louis..
Would a member be asked to leave the group if, heaven forbid, he/she were to break out in a giggle, Chris?
Chris: Good heavens yes Bev, they'd be drummed out of the society!
I'm about to open a branch here, Chris
Chris: Err..this might be a bad idea JC..
why oh why Chris!
Chris: Because we've had enough of all that optimism Ronky
I've been in shops where the attendants don't smile on any day, this surely can't be for real.
Chris: These people have had enough of inane smiling and mindless optimism Brian
