Chris, what lovely pictures. I like the bottom one, especially. Looks like a painting.

Chris, this is a wonderful picture, we had some snow, NOTHING compared to your blizzards....
Have a safe trip home and I hope you can sleep, I am off to work soon,
Groeten van the Lady of the Polder...smile
Chris: Thank you Astrid. I am still here at work but will be WALKING home later. It's too slippery to drive my car down the hill to home

Nicely twiddled.
On the opposite side of the world I'm waiting for it to cool down a bit, before trying to get some sleep ready for night shift.
Chris: Amazing eh Aussie. I had to leave my car at work last night & walk home in deep snow this morning

A fine close-up, a wonderful winterdress the trunk has put on and you have decorated it by some colourful spring-and summerdots to cheer up the tree and us! I see that you love -like a child ("within the man")- to use the paintbox!- "My" pic is the beautiful winterpainting (of a French artist or David Cox? - in our newspaper there was a detailed review of the exhibition "The Art of David Cox" in the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery) -you believe to sink into the deep snow and I can enjoy the shy wintersun with the fine shadows and esp. the heavenly tranquillity which has covered all, only one crow can be seen! The painter has also used some colours (blue, red, yellow, purple...), but our general impression is: purest white-snowwhite is shining! This pic mades my day!
Chris: I'm very pleased it made your day Philine. I twiddled it to make it look more luminous & dreamlike. Only the Meistertwiddler Von Dreutwich will know whether my efforts havesucceeded
You have registerd our week of snow nicely chris .

We have buckets loads today in Leicester.

Chris: Thank you Richard. When it left us it was on the way to you, via Droitwich

Oh, I now read: Monet, The Magpie, 1869. Only he could create such a beautiful painting!

Chris: Isn't he glorious Philine!
I guess that, like us, you had some proper snow this morning.

A strange entwiddlement but effective!
Chris: Thank you o Twiddlemeister Supreme!
Odd picture but very twiddle-able. In summer you can tint it all green and say its a summer tree covered in moss and lichen!
Chris: You can do anything with Photoshop type programmes Sheila...
Well I have been snowed in all week. The down side is that I have been cornered into decorating the bathroom.
Chris: Hahaha...serves you right!

I shall go tio woork with a light heart tonight now
Great twiddle giving a nice abstract!
Chris: Thank you kindly Richard
You have a taste of winter. We have a snack and where I visited last week, there is an entire meal.
Chris: There's an entire meal here too Mary: more tonight!
Nicely twiddled Chris, can you caome and twiddle the snow off my garden path for me as well pleasesmile
Chris: Sorry Brian: too busy working nights. I left my car at work last night because the snow was too deep. When I went to collect it today there was a large dent in it: probably from a lorry. WAAAAA!!!!!

It is snowy and cold in Europe- let's follow the three birds to warm us up each other! The poem written by Chris(tian) Morgenstern might have been inspired by such a winterday like now or by Monet's Magpie- painting!

The Three Sparrows

Upon a hazel branch I spied
three little sparrows, side by side.
At left is Erich, at right is Franz,
and smack in the middle is smarty Hans.
Their sleepy eyes they tightly close,
and over their backs it snows and snows,
they snuggle closely together, all three-
but Hans is the warmest, none snugger than he!
Chris: Hurrah Piline - you have cheered me up!
Chris replies:
Hahaha...serves you right!

I shall go tio woork with a light heart tonight now

your comment was:

B*****d.
Chris: The gods have their revenge. I left my car at work today because the snow made it impossible to move. When I went to pick it up today I found a lorry had kindly put a BLOODY GREAT DENT in it!
Like them both but winter entwiddled looks fantastic it would make for a great post card, christmas card , bet it would look great printed onto canvas and hung on the wall !

Well done
Chris: Well thank you indeed Simon: I am humbled by your praise
Great image and nice twiddling! Are you going to set up a cottage industry producing Christmas cards? (:o)
Chris: I didn't think of that Ros - but I might!

That looks very much like either a Monterey Pine or a Redwood, or maybe even a Yew because of the red wood beneath the bark - looks wonderful against the snow.

The second picture is in another league altogether! Unusual not to have water-lilies! wink
Chris: I think it might be a London Plane Ellie.

But as you imply: the other picture is simply world class, or at least the original is
