This is the Axe Estuary.

Ahead of us we see the River Axe: running from right to left into the open sea near Seaton. In the background a tram trundles along its scenic line.

The sky comes courtesy of Photoshop - with its dramatic cloud formations and tantalising blue. I have bought a job-lot of these skies, which Mr Evans kindly helped me to stack in my shed. So you will see more of them as time progresses.

That is some rough river you have there, I am not sure if my Armada will be able to sail there.
That sky is of nice quality, you must be a lucky man to choose from so many in your shed, I do hope you will take care that the damp air will be out of the shed, it ruins the bright blue, it will give nice thunderclouds though....
BTW, great view of this beautiful county, did you ever take that tram to Chad??

Chris Phillips: It doesn't go as far as his mansion Astrid. If it did he's fill it with sheep!

He was telling me that that Mr Phillips don't really do his own pictures with that new fangled camera of 'is ... He buys picture of the com'uter or something and then makes out it's his own photograph .... would ya believe that Mavis.

I am looking to build a portfoilo of skies to market as replacement for disappointing skies on holiday snaps. Do they command a price commensurate with the effort in obtaining them, or is the market oversubscribed already? Your advice would be appreciated.

A pleasing view of Devonshire Sir Tiff even with a rather un-typical Devon sky

Chris Phillips: I think you will find sir - that the market is heavily oversubscribed with GREY SKIES. A collection of the sort of skies I shall shortly be exhibiting should bring me riches beyond compare

The beautiful Photoshop sky was money well spent - it lifts what could otherwise have been a rather dull image into another realm! I look forward to seeing your sky collection.

I can't tell if the river is running right to left or the other way about. In fact, I can't see it running at all, or even moving. So a great pic of still water, small town and clouds of jiggery-pokery.

Chris Phillips: This is a tidal estuary Sheila, completely full at high tide. Glad you like the clouds!

Nice sky Chris, allied to a slightly mundane foreground makes a quite interesting shot. I bet this Photoshop sky wasn't taken this weekend.

This works a treat, Chris. I'm asuming that you have one of those industrial sized sheds, as skies like this tend to be fairly large and don't lend well to being folded in half!

Your taking me on a nostalgic tour here Chris. I should have purchased some of those skies while I was there, but was afraid of the overweight levies on the plane back.
