Well now it's mid summer the time has come to take some landscape pictures.
Unfortunately at this time of year everything is far too green & lush to be photographically interesting.
The thing to do therefore is to roll up one's sleeves and get cracking - to effect a fake winter.
It's quite easy when you know how.

I like it and it dose look like winter
Chris Phillips: Yes it really does, doesn't it Vintage
The things you know how to do, Chris, would probably make us all bow at your feet in total awe!!!
Chris Phillips: Oh I don't think so Ginnie
Very cool! Did you use the frost plugin in PS?
Chris Phillips: No I didn't Martin: I did it the hard way
I was going going to say summerset ... but maybe winterset would do.
richard
Chris Phillips: Actually this is Devonset Richard
This is pure genius. It must have been hard enough to add a layer of frost, but to remove the leaves from the trees is a mammoth task. Or did you clone in some bald trees? No, you wouldn't take the easy option. Stunning work Sir Tiff
Chris Phillips: Oh you are too kind: nothing will stop us from taking a good picture!
Did you use your freezer to change your shot from a summer picture to a winter one Chris?
Chris Phillips: My freezer is full of frozen vegetables Richard
I agree with you about summer/winter photography - give me winter any day where you can see the bare bones of the trees, the light is soft and gentle and the ground is covered in a light dusting of frost. I'm feeling all nostalgic, and it's not even July yet! Hope you don't have to stick all the leaves back on the trees now.
Ingrid
Chris Phillips: Ahh...a kindred spirit! We didn't bother to replace the leaves Ingrid
Seems like we are doing the same thing....I think you are a little bit better than me though, but practice, practice....
Chris Phillips: You know what they say Aksel - practice is in search of perfection!
the temperature just dropped 20 degrees when this opened..wonder why, marvelous picture though, hope you keep your feet warm...
Chris Phillips: Oh don't freeze Astrid!
Winter, winter everywhere, even here but we have neither frost or snow.
Chris Phillips: That's a drawback of Australia Aussie - but we have far less than we used to
I feel chilly round the Cottswolds already!
Chris Phillips: Realistic: isn't it!
Now Chris, this is a lovely picture, regardless of the amount of work you did on it. And it makes such a great change from your "shades of colour" series. I have to add this to my likeys.
Chris Phillips: Well that's very nice of you Sheila!
Chris Phillips: Oh tree stumps: we had to cut a few down to get the right angle for the shot
Brrrr. Just off to put the heating on. Darned clever if I may say so.
Chris Phillips: Thank you - and why do you wish you were somewhere else?
This is very very clever Chris I woud never have known well done.
Chris Phillips: Keep watching Scotia: it is quite possible you might change your mind before too long!
