TENBURY WELLS

Tucked away at the end of Teme Street, (just behind the Crow Hotel and adjacent to the car park by the Burgage), the Pump Rooms are a distinctive and unusual part of the history of Tenbury Wells.  Built in 1862 to promote the town as a spa for the working classes, the building is now Grade II* Listed and totally unique.

I was surprised to learn that this was in England; it looks foreign and I was thinking it was somewhere in Dutchland. A spa for the working classes? What's wrong with the public baths?
Chris: Well quite. I wonder if this was inspired by Quakerism, or that sort of thing?

Fantastic photograph of this place Tiff. What a find this was, and as you say, totally unique.
Chris: Unforgettable Chad
The word 'unique' is something of an understatement, what a fine building and good to learn it is protected.
Chris: Wonderful isn't it
From the dreams of elves!
Chris: Yes indeed!
It has a quaint fairy tale look to it, Chris. Is it still operating as a spa?
Chris: I don't think it is a spa still Bev
